The Most Important in Brief

The foundations long-term goal is to fund research to prevent and cure type 2 diabetes. The foundation supports research at two of Europe’s leading centers for diabetes, the University of Lund in Sweden and the University of Geneva in Switzerland.

Purpose (SOGC)

En Suisse et à l'étranger, des buts exclusivement d'intérêt général, en soutenant des chercheurs, des organismes ou des projets à vocation scientifique, dans le cadre de la recherche portant sur les soins et la guérison du Diabète de type II. A ce titre, soutenir financièrement, de manière ponctuelle ou péridique, des chercheurs, des doctorants, des institutions médicales ou pharmaceutiques ou toute autre institution poursuivant les mêmes buts.

Funding Policy

The foundation annually attributdes fellowships to Geneva and Lund Universities. After reception of research applications from the two universities, a Scientific Advisory Board comprising Leif Groop, Claes Wollheim and Joachim Karsegard will establish a list of candidates to whom Fellowships should be attributed.

The foundation solicits applications from independent investigators or young scientists on the way to independence. Preference will be given to novel projects rather than support for on-going research. The subsidy can cover salaries and/or costs for consumables including laboratory rodents.
