Seit 1984 betreibt der Verein Frauenhaus das Frauenhaus Winterthur. In seiner Öffentlichkeits- und Präventionsarbeit setzt sich der Verein Frauenhaus ein gegen Gewalt in Ehe und Partnerschaft für gewaltbetroffene Frauen und Kinder im Allgemeinen und insbesondere die Verbesserung der Situation bei gewaltbetroffenen Migrantinnen und ihren Kindern Der Verein Frauenhaus unterstützt zudem alle Bestrebungen, welche die Gleichstellung von Frau und Mann sowie die Aufhebung der strukturellen und gesellschaftlichen Diskriminierung von Migrantinnen zum Ziel haben.
