Errichtung und Betrieb eines Schweizerischen Bergbaumuseums in Ried / Gemeinde Blatten. Sammeln von Objekten zum historischen und gegenwärtigen Bergbau in der Schweiz (Werkzeuge, Gegenstände, Literatur, Archivalien, historische Wertpapiere, Pläne, Fotos aber auch Erze, Mineralien und weitere naturwissenschaftliche Belegstücke) deren Konservieren, Erforschen und Vermitteln durch Ausstellungen, Publikationen, Filme oder ander geeignete Massnahmen. Nach Möglichkeit gehört auch das Erforschen und Konservieren von Feldzeugen im Gelände zu den Tätigkeiten der Stiftung. Sie ist in der ganzen Schweiz tätig und hat keinen Erwerbszweck und erstrebt keinen Gewinn.
