DONATION OF EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS TO OVCs IN MITYANA DISTRICT OF CENTRAL UGANDA

The Project Goal; The project is aimed at improving the education status of 200 vulnerable children including the orphans, semi-orphans and other children from poor families in Mityana District of Central Uganda, through the provision scholastic or educational materials by August 2025. The project will increase school attendance, retention and completion of 200 vulnerable pupils in Mityana District of Central Uganda

WISIMODO intends to address the generational poverty that is brought about by having a bigger percentage of uneducated children in a community or a country at large. Orphans and other vulnerable children from poor families will be support with educational materials which facilitate their being in school as well as live their dream of a better and successful future.

WISIMODO seeks Euros 6030 to purchase and distribute educational materials including Exercise/note books, pens and pencils, mathematical geometry sets and school bags to 200 Orphans and other vulnerable children (OVCs) in Mityana district of Central Uganda with an aim of increasing school attendance, retention and completion of their education journey. The overall project goal will be to eradicate generational poverty which has for years hindered the development of our communities and the country at large.

WISIMODO established volunteer committees commonly known as "Community Child Welfare Committees (CCWCs) in each parish of Ttamu Division in Mityana district. The CCWCs are our on-ground workforce. They know all the households with most vulnerable children. Through the CCWCs, WISIMODO will mobilize and register the potential project beneficiaries. WISIMODO team will later conduct a due diligence exercise to make sure that the registered beneficiaries are worth the support. Follow-ups on the beneficiaries after receiving the donations will be conducted to inform the project indicators and results.

WISIMODO has implemented similar projects in this area before and the above mentioned approach of involving all relevant stakeholders has yielded great project results. Hence, the proposed project will target the potential beneficiaries who will be effectively and carefully selected.

As mentioned above, WISIMODO has implemented similar projects in the target community before. Hence, we have the expertise. Besides, WISIMODO is rooted from the target community, therefore we very well know all what works to achieve the project results and how. We very well know the needs/challenges of the target community. This is why of all the challenges the community faces, WISIMODO chose this kind of initiative.
